FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Dear Member:

The hectic holiday season will soon be upon us. If you’re like me, you’ll do anything to avoid the crowded parking lots and packed stores we all face this time of year. Before you head out, take a moment to review the Benefits Spotlight in this issue of Common Sense. You’ll find great gift ideas along with the significant discounts AFS Members depend on.

This year AFS will be holding its Annual Meeting on December 17 in Dallas. The Board will reassess priorities, review the accomplishments of the past months and plan for the upcoming year. As an AFS Member you are invited to join us. However, even if you can’t attend the meeting, your opinion and vote are still important to us. Please take a few seconds to fill out the proxy on page 7, return it and get your voice heard.

As this year draws to an end many people will be setting goals for 2005; I know I am. It’s important to have a clear vision of what you want to accomplish in order to achieve success. In this issue you’ll find a four-step strategy for setting and achieving your career and business goals that’s easy to follow and sure to work for you. Also, don’t miss the article on page 1 that includes helpful hints to boost your productivity through the use of technology.

This has been a big year in the legislative arena, and AFS has been working hard to keep you informed of issues important to you. Remember, you can find the latest Capitol Hill updates online at www.afswebsite.org. A new edition of AFS News from the Hill is posted each month to keep members informed on important legislative decisions.

Also, don’t forget that the new benefits package comes out in January. We’re hard at work incorporating your feedback so that AFS can provide a variety of cost-saving benefits that help you aspire, focus and succeed. Thank you for being a part of AFS. We look forward to serving you throughout the upcoming year and beyond.

Sincerely,
Art Granda
AFS President
